It is without hesitation that I endorse Chief Jimmy Crayton (Session 279) for Section III Representative for the FBI National Academy Associates.
 
I have known Jimmy since he was elected to serve on the North Carolina Chapter’s Executive Board three years ago. Jimmy has been a dues-paying member of the South Carolina Chapter for several years and has attended our Spring Training Conference the last two years. Jimmy will bring his strong leadership skills and an unwavering commitment to our National Board. Jimmy comes highly recommended by everyone I have spoken with from many of the other Section III Chapters. Most importantly, I keep hearing “Jimmy is a Section III guy”.

With the exception of about six years, I have served on the South Carolina Chapter’s Executive Board since graduating from the 215th Session in 2003. I know the commitment it takes to serve on these boards.

As we prepare for the Baltimore Conference, we look forward to the training, renewing old friendships, and making new ones! However, the election of a Section III Representative is just as important. 

I have been an officer in the West Virginia Chapter since graduating from the 162nd Session in 1990, and I recognize the importance of our National Board. I have always looked at which candidate will best lead this great organization. That candidate is Chief Jimmy Crayton, FBINA 279.

Chief Crayton talks more about what he will do than what he has done. He has developed three essential strategies for a positive future for our association, which are critical to our membership.

Jimmy Crayton was a sessionmate in the 279th session. Since we met, we have become great friends. Jimmy is a fine example of a law enforcement leader and I know he will make a great addition to the National Board. It’s been my honor to get to know so many of the men and women who are the helpers in our world, and Jimmy is one of the best among them. He’s a great Chief who truly cares about his people, always finding ways to support their mental and physical health – an initiative he brought to fruition even with a limited budget.

I have worked with Jimmy for several years now. I first met him through joining the NC Homicide Investigators Association board of directors. He was the first president that I served under. I have also worked with Jimmy through my duties with the NC SBI. He is a trustworthy leader. He is trusted by his agency as he leads from the front. I have known Jimmy for the entirety of his law enforcement career. During this time, I have been impressed and inspired by his tireless commitment to the profession. I had the pleasure of spending 10 weeks with Jimmy at the FBI NA 279 in 2020.  We were also in the same Section 5 so I was able to really get to know him during that time.  I endorse Jimmy because he is a proven and caring leader and an amazing human being.  I learned so much from him during our time together as he was not afraid to share, be vulnerable, and better himself. I have known Chief Jimmy Crayton for nearly ten years both personally and professionally. When I first met Chief Crayton he was assuming the presidency of the North Carolina Homicide Investigators Association (NCHIA). At that time my personal and professional goal was to be considered for a Board of Directors seat within that prestigious association. Chief Crayton was supportive of my goal and always approachable if I had any questions. I was able to be elected to the NCHIA Board of Directors and during this opportunity was able to really get to know Chief Crayton on a personal level.
